Synopsis: The optical audio reader on a 16mm film projector converts patterns on the edge of the film into sounds. The oscilloscope (a piece of electronic test equipment) converts sounds into line-drawings on a screen. These 2 vintage machines are used together to compose a piece of visual music which explores how the shapes of familiar symbols create their sonic identities.
