FILMMAKER Q&A – All I Care About is Love – Chris M. Allport – Director

OR: What was the inspiration for your film?

CMA: To revive the true old-fashioned movie musical genre — with a modern twist!

OR: When did you conceive the idea for your film and how long did it take before it was realized?

CMA: We had performed the number in a showcase on stage and were promised a video of the performance.  After all, the choreography took some time to work out.  Of course, “something happened” with the videographer, and there was no record of our fabulous performance in front of a 1200 person audience.  So before everyone forgot the choreography, I assembled my team, rented a venue and filmed, filmed filmed!

OR: What was the most challenging aspect of working in a short film format?

CMA: Making the choreography smaller to fit within the frame, yet still feel a great theatrical impact!

OR: What was the most challenging aspect of your production?

CMA: Keeping everyone’s creative juices flowing in one direction.

OR: Do you have any advice for first-time filmmakers?

CMA: Keep experimenting and stay focused on story!  In real estate, its all about location.  Location, location, location.  With indie film, it’s all about story 😉
