Synopsis: IF IS is an experimentation on ripping paper and sewing it back together again is a visual for being alone and lost during sexual assault. The thread and the ripping becomes a metaphor for the abuser and the destruction of the character’s identity. In the end they have to use the memory and trauma of the abuse to shape and build who they are. The final frame is not a pretty end, but a realistic one to represent the low part of recovery. In the last few seconds the audience becomes the bystander to the person’s struggles and is then presented with the sewn up character for them to sit with.
